## Content

## WoW Forever Mage talents at a glance

Mages changed the least of all classes. They have 55 talents, six more than in Classic. Nine are unchanged, 35 changed and seven new, and only one Classic talent, Magic Attunement, is gone.

The 31-point talents are Arcane Power, Combustion and Ice Barrier. The 16-point talents are Arcane Wrath, Heating Up and Ice Block.

Beta build 1.60.1.70425 reworked the Arcane top rows. Missile Barrage moved from row 4 to row 1 and now has two ranks, Arcane Wrath took its place as the 16-point talent, and Improved Fire Blast is back in Fire with a shorter cooldown and more range instead of Wake of Fire. Fire Power drops to three ranks and Critical Mass grows to five.

## Arcane

An Arcane Mage in WoW Forever spends most points in this tree. **Missile Barrage**, now in row 1, gives Arcane Blast, Arcane Wrath, Fireball, Frostbolt and Frostfire Bolt a chance to make your next Arcane Missiles free and twice as fast. **Arcane Blast** grants Spell Damage from your Intellect each time you cast it, while its own Mana cost climbs. **Arcane Wrath**, the new 16-point talent, is a 3.5 sec Arcane bolt that gains Spell Damage from 5% of your maximum Mana, and **Arcane Geometry** extends Arcane spell range.

## Fire

Planning WoW Forever Fire Mage talents starts here. Fire adds **Heating Up**: critical strikes with Fireball, Frostfire Bolt, Fire Blast and Scorch shorten your next Pyroblast, stacking up to three times, and every Fire Blast hit adds a stack. **Improved Fire Blast** in row 1 cuts the Fire Blast cooldown by up to 2 sec and adds up to 15 yards of range. Combustion stays the 31-point talent.

## Frost

Planning WoW Forever Frost Mage talents starts here. Frost adds **Ice Lance**, an instant spell that deals 200% more damage to frozen targets, and **Fingers of Frost**, which lets a chill treat your next spell as if the target were frozen. Ice Block moved to row 4, and Ice Barrier now also protects your casts from pushback while it holds.

## Save and share a WoW Forever Mage build

Every point you spend is written to the page address, so a WoW Forever Mage build is saved the moment you make it. Copy the build link to post it in your guild chat or a guide; opening it restores the same points, level and Legacy Talented rank. Your last Mage build also stays in this browser, and the [Legacy talents planner](/tools/legacy-talents) works the same way for your account perks.

## Runs in your browser

The calculator runs in this browser tab. Your build lives in the page address and in this browser's local storage; nothing is sent to a server.

## How to use the Mage Talent Calculator

- Set the level you want to plan for; the Mage trees keep the build inside that many points.
- Spend points from the top of Arcane, Fire and Frost. Each row needs five more points above it in the same tree.
- Follow the lines between icons; a linked talent opens only when the talent above it is at max rank.
- Turn on Compare to Classic to see which Mage talents are new, changed or moved.
- Copy the build link to share your Mage talents.

## Inputs

- Character level and Legacy Talented rank
- Points in each Mage talent

## Outputs

- Points left and the level the build needs
- Rank text for each Mage talent
- A shareable Mage build link

## Limitations

- The Mage trees come from beta client build 1.60.1.70425 and can change before or after the 4 November launch.
- Tooltip numbers are level 60 values with no gear.

## FAQ

- **How many talents do Mages have in WoW Forever?**: 55, compared with 49 in Classic. 7 are new, 35 changed, 4 moved and 9 unchanged, and only one Classic Mage talent, Magic Attunement, was removed.
- **What are the 31-point Mage talents in WoW Forever?**: Arcane Power in Arcane; Combustion in Fire; Ice Barrier in Frost.
- **Which Mage talents are new in WoW Forever?**: Missile Barrage, Arcane Geometry, Arcane Blast and Arcane Wrath in Arcane; Heating Up in Fire; Ice Lance and Fingers of Frost in Frost.
- **Is Ice Lance a talent in WoW Forever?**: Yes. Ice Lance is a row 3 Frost talent, an instant spell that deals 200% more damage to frozen targets.
- **Which Mage talents can I get while leveling in WoW Forever?**: You get one talent point per level from level 10, so with every point in one tree you reach its one-point talents at levels 20, 25, 30 and 40. Arcane: Arcane Blast at level 20, Arcane Wrath at 25, Presence of Mind at 30 and Arcane Power at 40; Fire: Pyroblast at level 20, Heating Up at 25, Blast Wave at 30 and Combustion at 40; Frost: Ice Lance at level 20, Ice Block at 25, Cold Snap at 30 and Ice Barrier at 40. Arcane Blast grants Spell Damage from your Intellect each time you cast it while its own cost climbs, Missile Barrage in row 1 can make your next Arcane Missiles free and twice as fast, and Arcane Wrath, the 16-point talent, is a 3.5 sec Arcane bolt that gains Spell Damage from 5% of your maximum Mana.
- **Is this WoW Forever Mage talent calculator up to date?**: It uses WoW Forever beta client build 1.60.1.70425, from the 15 October 2026 beta update, and the build and import date are shown at the top of the calculator. When Blizzard changes the Mage trees in a new build, the trees, the talent reference and this page are updated and the change is listed in the changelog.
